New articles conceptualising sidestreaming and exploring the case of VOX

Our PI, Mari-Liis Jakobson published an milestone contribution of the project, an article in the journal Politics, where she conceptualises what sidestreaming is, how it fits with the populist radical right ideology and how it avails itself on the discursive level.

The article is available open access: Jakobson, M. (2026). Conceptualising sidestreaming: How the populist radical right appeals to atypical supporters. Politics, 0(0).

In addition, Sebastian Umpierrez de Reguero, Javier Zamora Garcia and Lisa Zanotti published a paper on how VOX appeals to immigrant voters from Latin America.

Both articles are part of a special issue forthcoming later in 2026, co-edited by Mari-Liis, Sebastian and Niels Spierings from Radboud University.
